Oh man, going away for the week was an awesome thing. John showed me around some of the places in Medicine Hat, and we visited guitar shops, the mall, random food places, I met some of his family on his b-day, and some more random folks as well.

I had my guitar and he has his bass hooked up in his house there, and we kept messing around with stuff like "The Night Falls" by One Shot Left (after I showed him the bass line, he couldn't stop XD).

And we nearly electrocuted each other at one point. Basically, what happened was we had both guitars on-hand, plugged into the amps...And we went to swap between each other, grabbing both of the necks at the same time...And all of the sudden the two instruments started vibrating rapidly and a big spark flew between them. John's bass actually got a burn mark on one of the tuning beads, but mine didn't sustain any visible wounds. It was intense, though.

We stopped by this used music store one day and I bought a copy of the album New Traditionalists on vinyl and a working turntable for 10 dollars. I haven't checked if it's still working after having it in a suitcase, but a small piece did kind of break off. Gah. Yeah, I am a bit of a foolish buyer for someone who need to take a bus, but whatever. 10 dollar turntable!

Other stuff I can remember? I made myself at home or wandered around while John was working his job, and we watched a couple movies and whatnot at his house, as well as most of the series Firefly. Jayne and River are teh awesome XP.

So we pretty much stayed up until early yesterday morning...So I could catch the bus at 4:30. Got back here around noon. Summer's boredom has redeemed itself, yay!
